2 person: guitar&vocals+drums/guitar+vocals/guitar+bass&vocals. this sounds quite stupid.
3 piece band: guitar&vocals+bass+drums. sounds like mayer's trio.
4 piece band: lead guitar+rhythm guitar&vocals+drums+bass. feels good, but just not there.
5 piece band: lead guitar+rhythm guitar+singer+bass guitar+drums.
6 piece band: lead guitar+rhythm guitar+singer+bass guitar+keyboard.
the ultimate combination:
leadguitar+rhythmguitar+bassguitar+
leadsinger+3backgroundvocals+
drums+percussion+harmonica+keyboard+piano.
