well, i'll start off with results first. the msa didnt turn out bad at all, even though the physics mcq was a total letdown.

H2 Physics: 56/100. 12 for mcq, 44 for paper 2. C
H2 Chemistry: 18.5/30. careless mistakes everywhere. B

i guess i did quite alright, i though i would fail physics badly. today's H1 econs was rather alright, what i studied for came out. hope it will turn out well too. H2 math and gp to come. i look forward to Block Test 1.hahahah(:

~
today mrs lee announced the cut-off point for the new jc1 intake.
ARTS 9
SCIENCE 8

so those without anything near that forget about appealing, although i saw plenty who are trying to.

~
now, i'll share about my physics lessons with miss huang. there are some stuff that i can't reveal here, and if are really dying to know, ask me. i think she's one of the best teachers around in school. can teach well, and is also good at getting our attention. which teacher, will conduct lessons outside classroom, i mean the benches near C block at the first floor. she did, because it was windy. and who would close the door to tell you about some encounter with a retarded person in school? well, she did. i will miss her when she leaves in june, a really good and fun teacher to hang out with, and deserve some recognition.

~
for the coming weekend, i'll study on sunday. think im crazy?i want my results and the As. saturday will be Chingay 2009. before that will be a good time of poker and blackjack at samuel's place. how to get there in the first place, somewhere in the west while im in the east. i'll expect loads of photos from Chingay, luckily i got my ext. drive back from mark already.

now i'll get back to what happened today, was quite upset for doing something that totally wasted my time. left class early to attend this press conference for the MILO-MOE TRYathlon. i thought it would be just a briefing since im taking part in that. but some caucasian who was sort of the speaker for today and happened to be a trainer of some sort, said we could do some workout. i knew something was wrong, but i can't leave the LT1. teachers are all over the place, i just can't slip out of this event. so, i went on to do some 'exercise' with the rest at the netball court at 3.30pm in my FULL school uniform. after playing indoor sports for all my 4 years back in anglican high, i dont find the sun friendly, especially at that kind of time and when im in that kind of attire. some tv crew were there to film us acting as clowns in the school uniform. i personally think this was uncalled for, its total waste of precious JC2 time and energy that could be better used like playing guitar or study. i don't think i will get this kind of rubbish on 7th March during the actual thing. this spoils my friday.

chinese new year 2009

its the last day of chinese new year holidays today. its been quite a while, actually just 4 and a half days break, rather busy visiting and hosting. but its been a good time.

anyway melodie, the peeps at the bars dont bother to check the ic. although it wont be a problem for me, i guess they just want to earn money. the place was still quite open, so just dont look like a tiny kid and pray that no one will check on us. but thats unlikely. so when will be the next night outing?hahaha(: and peter still owe me $40 for the good time on friday.

Sunday 25 January 2009

yesterday's service helped me change my mindset about going to church again. it also gave me a new reason to continue believing and commit and have faith in god.thanks pastor steven.

nothing much to add on. have a good chinese new year to those i know and those who know me. have a nice day too.

Saturday 24 January 2009

late night practicing at home till 2am this morning, thats 2 hours of good solid practice till my fingers really hurt. im deciding whether to play or not today. or i should study econs?msa is on 30th.

yesterday was a rather good night spent at clarke quay. with melina, olivia, kaixiang and p.goh who came much later. dinner at long john, sat around at the river while waiting for peter to arrive. talked quite a lot of rubbish, but i still enjoy it.

and peter, i could only say that you are rather.....hahaha(:
found the bottle of salonpas in your bag, roll up your school pants in front of lunar bar, and you start spraying on your calves! sat around at this spanish street food stall to get peter's dinner and oli got some snacks. and here comes the drinks. lime, and strawberry magarita. peter had gin fizz, which was the worse of all 3 and he thinks that its the best. only till yesterday then i know that peter is a huge drinker. he just got drunk from the previous night and he's still drinking with us. he still said something like "eh you all know ah, mark's mum drink alot also leh". how would we know, only melodie will know right? by the way, i'll keep that bottle of champagne somewhere, and get another and spread the love okay?

the drinks already got peter and kaixiang red. but peter said he wanted more, and he wanted something called Rapsberry Vodka from 7eleven. they were having this promotion and i got 2 for $10.90. sat the river again, and talked and talked and drank more again. somehow, i gulped too big a mouth the gassy drink that the gas build-up in my mouth was so huge that i have to get some out. i dont have to elaborate further on that. melina dong, that was not puke. and there's more of peter's joke to come. he took off his ankle guard and threw it in the air to let kx kick it into the river. we asked him why did he do that? his reason "because he(kx) wanted to, so i let him". and you may be wondering why he is he wearing ankle guard. he sprained his ankle because he got so drunk the previous night he couldn't walk straight.

i'll look forward to the next night outing, and hope more people will come, but not too many. just chill and have lots of fun together.

Friday 23 January 2009

i know the economy is bad. the government just revealed a 20billion Resilience Plan on budget yesterday. so, i couldnt explain the tiny $7+ birthday cake from CANELE. and the $600 champagne as a birthday present from dad. im not an alcoholic by the way.

but school's cny celebration was alright, atmosphere was okay. but nothing beats what i used to have in Anglican High, its a chinese school afterall. you wont get mcs or ics, and everything is in chinese of course. its only 3 days more to the actual chinese new year, i wonder what awaits me this year. gonna chill out tonight. hope it will be good enough.

Thursday 22 January 2009

finally got to touch my gibson again today, after about more than a week due to msa. it was quite alright although physics will turn out bad. you see, after putting in so much effort to prepare for this assesment and heaping so much pressure onto yourself, is this what you deserve? think again. if i didnt study much, waste my time throughout the holidays, i would have no complaints if results turn out bad. i will only have myself to blame. but when you slog day after day trying to figure out why things work that way, and it doesn't reflect in your results, thats when you will feel as if you are shot right in the head. you feel disappointed, you feel down, you lose hope that you will ever do well again. after studying so much, what have education really brought the world today?

in 1997, during the economic crisis, people lose MILLIONS. now, 12 years later, they count in BILLIONS. if you are not so good with numbers, 1 billion has 9 zeros. education taught people how to cheat others out of their savings and how to get around rules by finding loopholes in them. if you take a closer look again, its the very-well-educated that landed the world in this state. we may not become one of those in the future, i do not want either, because after these 16 years of education(take it as you go to a JC, dont get retained and move on to a university and study for a honours degree), you are most likely going to end up sutck in a cubicle in the office building. lucky enough, by hook or by crook, you may land youself in a fish tank in the same office. but if somehow you are gonna be bad enough, you will work behind a counter at one of the fastfood outlets. or even worse, you might be working at casey leong's condo handling the bookings of function rooms. some will take up the 'noble' job of educating the next generation to cheat others, i dont know what will it be.

its not that i love to complain just because i did not get what i wanted, but i just think that you cant judge anyone by the looks. quoting shakespeare's macbeth, " your hand, your tongue: like th' innocent flower, but be the serpent under't". in simpler terms, will be looking like the innocent flower, but be the serpent underneath it. education does really make your portfolio looks good, the more education, the better it gets. but its actually breeding people that could bite you one day, and turn the world upside down like whats happening now. its not only about the economy, think about the environment too. get this straight, education brings you far. but you need deception to bring you beyond where education can.

i just simply hope that my hardwork will pay off, after getting so much rubbish in my head. just a while more and the a'levels will be over. i want my As, i will do anything to get them. i believe in prayer too, i dont wish to lose any of my trust in prayer, just hope God will answer them and i will understand His answer.

valentine's day local cip, i dont know whats that gonna mean to me. spread the love, maybe? i dont care that much actually, just want to get it over and done with. im not in a very good mood now anyway, so i may change my thoughts about certain things i have said now. leftover cash for chalet? i wont mind that, but thats not a good idea though. outing tomorrow evening? i'll see how it goes. im not going to go back to anglican high anyway, the people should most likely be gone by 12. save up taxi money and convert it to happy money.

yes, please leave a comment if you want.

Tuesday 20 January 2009

i turn 18 today. life will still go on as normal till this weekend. i'll be drinking, be happy and feel terrible the next day. thanks to those who wished me a happy birthday.

and i won't touch my guitars till i reach home tomorrow. i still have to exercise a bit more self discipline and prepare for physics msa part 2 tmr. the paper one was alright, but some joker can still score a 4/25 according to miss huang. but msa have been good till now. math was good, chem was good. gp was as usual, you never know when you're gonna fail. maybe its time to change the gp teacher. i wont mind any of the gay dudes in the gp dept, i just want my A for gp.

chinese new year is just round the the corner, i'll pack up my room, clean it up over this week. life's getting a bit bland, i shall think of something to make it fire up and be interesting again.for now its PHYSICS!

good luck and have a nice day.

Friday 16 January 2009

today will mark the end of the first week to school, and the start of msa which im getting all over it to get my good grades. physics mcq went well, some minor bumps, but that should be only be about 3marks. im glad im back in school, after the first week, nothing much really changed from last year. theres still people playing poker in school. when you see a classroom with all windows closed and doors locked, that should be it.

physics lesson was the best lesson i had so far, especially today's. ms huang kexin was talking to us about how to replace your teacher when you could not bear with her because she's lousy or for whatever reason. that was a half an hour talk, starting from when aranab popped that question. obviously, it was annie tang. ms huang gave us a few reasons that we could use to get annie tang out of our system.

1: she's old
2: she's not good enough
3: generation gap-annie tang should be in her mid-50s, she couldnt understand us
4: poor dress sense-ms huang even said that we could use her clothes for the class cny decor. and she wouldnt even use it for her curtain
5. we dont understand her lesson

but, if we really want to change, we need a good and persuasive person to speak to the principal. wait, do we have the time?

Wednesday 14 January 2009

school started like 3 days ago on monday, but i felt that i really dont have time for my own stuff other than school work. i know this sounds ridiculous as it is just the start of a new school year, but my friends in tj and vj, you all dont have this assesment by the name of "MSA" or something along that line. i think it is supposed to help us in one way or another, i hope it does.

on the first day of school, i realised one huge difference.08S02 shrunk terribly, from last year. only 3/4 of the class remained, or 21 left. in other words, 7 did not make it the jc2.then, theres this special assembly. nothing really special to me actually, after being in an anglican mission school, or anglican high school, which runs about the same way as sajc does in terms of such stuff. so i managed pull through that, and then was followed by civics. a new civics tutor, but still miss tan, only that you can call her jasmine tan. thats the difference. BUT, i dont think she is someone to mess with. she speaks with loads of confidence, can be a bit scary at times. a few things have changed too. econs teacher, mr benjamin liang is out! that sounds good.wait, but nothing else changed except for econs and chem. im still the service learning rep for my class, same as last year. i hope to do something more meaningful this time round, and not play with some animals at spca for 2 hours and call it service learning. i want my class to understand the true meaning of service learning, as i have learnt from ocip not so long ago.

and discipline wise, the girls are really fed up with the school. although im not a girl and the rules for guys have also changed to weird weird ones, i think the 5cm thing is rather funny, and im not gonna elaborate any further.

by the way, i initially thought that my timetable was terrible, because last year the lessons end latest at 2.30pm. and this year its 4pm. but i still end at almost 2.30 any other days. so, its still good.

the ocip team video, that dear mark and olivia made, and i contributed the photos, was rather tear evoking at the first few moments, because of the slow song used. but when this picture of "beer girl" came out, it wasnt that feeling. it became a mixture of weird feelings running through me. i guess john and a few others may think the same way. after asking melodie what was that all about, it was a shirt that she wore in vietnam. i dont remember, but do i seem to care so much? NO.

while on this ocip thing, the open house was finally over today. one job less for me now, which means i got more time for my books. but melodie was nowhere to be seen for most of the open house, at least at the ocip booth. melina who helped out to pin up some stuff was more interested in the polo booth though. which left the same 3 banner painters to stay at the booth. watching girls pass by, while fiona continued to talk and comment about them. then when gen came past, hahahahahaha(: john was left in a super embarassing moment. want to know more? ask john. ocip made me learn a lot from other people, and also working with people. i will look forward to the next meet up.

back to msa, its this friday, all the way till 20th jan. which just happen to fall on my birthday. i think im prepared, yet i feel im not. i just hope to do well as i have worked for it. i deserve a good grade. i will not touch any of my guitars, till msa ends. i'll try to keep my itchy fingers away.good luck for msa.

LAST DAY.of holidays \Y/

i guess its luck, im the in-charge for the ocip booth for the SAJC Open House. so, since i/we have to do something on our own, i decided to paint a banner, that is durable and can last for more open houses, which was what mr.ho wanted. supposed to be a 8 person meeting, but ended up with fiona, john and i. maybe the open house is only about the vietnam team. i guess because i dont want things to be left undone, we finised a huge(you know its really huge, see it on open house day) banner, as above. and 59 wooden clothe pegs painted and written on. finished in just over 3 hours for 3 people, including some clearing up. you will know what i mean when you take a look at the fitness corner and see some evidence that we worked there and painted a banner with blue, green, white and black. this will end real soon, and school starts tmr.yes, its tomorrow.

We the Kings

its the 3rd day of 2009. now, im not gonna make any new year resolutions, as studies have shown they cause more anxiety and worry among people.anyway, i've been listening to this band called we the kings, i think their music is rather good and quite catchy, of course there's travis clark. sometimes, moving away from to usual stuff to newer bands like this is good. below are 2 videos of their songs. the first one is my favourite, Check Yes Juliet. the one further down will be Skyway Avenue. Enjoy, We The Kings!
